Scottish Parent Education Facilitators Course
Background
The Scottish Parent Education Facilitators Course has been developed to provide a standardised, quality-assured method of training Facilitators to support parent education in Scotland.
The course is part of the Scottish Parent Education Programme, whose aim is to support professionals in delivering consistent parent education that respects and reflects the individual needs of pregnant women and their partners. The Scottish Parent Education Programme is a joint development with the SMMDP, Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS Health Scotland.
The course is generic and can be accessed by anyone interested in teaching parent education, not just registered health professionals. The course will provide a means of standardising parent education throughout Scotland. Courses are held in various locations thoughout Scotland.
